I enjoyed this offering. Perhaps it was because a friend's dad offered me a drink while I was picking up his son and my daughter from a playdate. Tea and coffee were offered first, and I eagerly accepted the whiskey. Good Bowmore characteristics are present, even at a lower alcohol content. It's better than tea or water!

Heavy peat on the nose, with abundant leather and earthiness. The palate brings tobacco smoke, leather, and a touch of the earthiness often found in Laphroaig. It is surprisingly soft and smooth to drink, yet intensely peaty. Fairly rich, with a medium finish.
I immediately adored this particular bottling from Bowmore. The sherry notes are prominent and complement the characteristic peaty flavor of a Bowmore 12 very well.
I had higher hopes for Bowmore, but it was entirely forgettable. I cannot recall my tasting notes.
Smoky peat, honey, citrus, dried grapes, and sherry notes.
Smoked meats, vanilla, oak, and a hint of campfire.
