This rum is quite distinct, with a more herbal character than most others. It's somewhat challenging to find a cocktail application for, but the Ti Punch made with this spirit is one of my favored drinks. Purchasing this supports Haitian farmers who cultivate sugar cane.

About this bottle
This Haitian rhum, also referred to as Clairin, is produced from Madame Mevs sugarcane juice, a variety unique to Haiti. The sugarcane is sourced from growers in the Croix-des-Bouquets and Cap-Haïtien regions. Following column distillation, a cold maceration process is employed using local woods and barks such as liane bandé, zou’devant, campèche, and bois cochon, alongside oak, dried bitter orange peel, whole allspice, whole cinnamon ceylonica, whole clove, and natural vanilla and bitter almond extracts. Post-distillation, no sugars or sweeteners are added, though natural caramel coloring may be used for batch consistency.
