Bordiga Gin Smoke

An elegant, Smoked Gin by Bordiga Distillery in Italy's Occitan region. It was discovered by chance; a delivery of juniper berries was placed near a coal fire. When the Gin from that batch was tasted, the master distiller was pleasantly surprised. The botanical mix was adjusted to complement the smoke flavor, including angelica, cardamom, coriander, licorice, & 3 others which are smoked before infusion. The base Spirit is distilled 4 times from local grains. It starts with aromas of earth, leafy herbs & a hint of mineral-rich smoke. The middle is complex with oily juniper, cardamom, wet leaves, pine bark, mineral water, a bit of black pepper & coriander. It finishes long & balanced. August 2020
