Bolster Road Maple Rye Whiskey

The aroma has as much maple syrup as one would anticipate. The body isn't as syrupy and sweet as Knob Creek's offerings; I believe the barrel finish prevents that. The sweetness yields to a bright rye finish, but the flavors clash for me. The initial sweetness makes the rye impact taste bitter. Intriguing, but not a favorite.
