This is the second batch of Blue Run Kentucky Straight Golden Rye Whiskey, named for the color of the ingredients used in its production. It is a limited, small-batch rye whiskey comprising 102 select barrels and is bottled at 95 proof. It became available on July 20, 2022, through online sales and at select retailers across the US and Canada.

The smell has caramel, cloves, and cinnamon. It has a slightly bitter start, but then comes baking spices, pie crust, graham cracker, cinnamon, and a little pumpkin. The cinnamon fades, leaving a touch of mint to conclude. It's a pleasant pour, offering a middle ground between rye and bourbon characteristics.
The aroma doesn't present a fiery rye... it's quite mellow. The palate brings spice, though not a lot of depth. It's drinkable, but the straightforward, spicy flavor doesn't justify the cost of a whole bottle. I wouldn't refuse a glass, but I wouldn't seek it out.
Tastes like graham cracker with very little heat. It's undeniably rye, but the spice is subtle. My partner enjoys it.
