Bladnoch 11 Year Old (2020 Release)

Nose: Ammonia, cat urine, floral, grassy, a lemon-scented toilet bowl cleaner. Palate: Floral, heather honey, apple, cocoa nibs, pear, dark chocolate, barley. Finish: A moderately short finish. Sweet, chocolate, poached pear, floral, and peppery. The scent is somewhat off-putting, with ammonia and citrus, but this drink truly shines on the palate and in the finish. It's not mind-blowing, but it's a respectable dram. I’d consider this suitable for extended sipping; it improves as it rests in the glass, mellowing the rather unpleasant aroma.

Labeled ‘first release’. Tastes like Carte D’Or vanilla ice cream. There's considerable Bourbon and rye whisky character in the sweetness, indicating its origin from Bourbon and American wine casks. It's heavily influenced by the wood.
