Mildly smoky. The dry essence of Syrah from the barrel finish is detectable, but it possesses an overwhelming tannic quality that is not appealing. It seems to have spent too much time in the wine barrel. Re-tasted with a cigar. The texture remains overpowering, a little off, and unpleasant.

The aroma presents notes of dark wood, chocolate, and fruit. The palate echoes these flavors, and I particularly appreciate the abundant chocolate notes. It has a noticeable warmth that integrates well with the darker flavors. The taste is unique, full-bodied, and complex.
Enjoyed this late at night with a couple of friends after consuming several glasses of Jura and Ledaig 10. I recall finding it pleasant, but it did not distinguish itself compared to a previous serving of Talisker 18.
From an advent calendar, consumed neat. Very smoky on the smell and taste; perhaps too much for my preference. The aroma offered hints of spiced prunes, grapes, and raisins.
A nice entry with fruits and wood, then slightly smoky, with the alcohol pleasantly accompanying it. In the end, there's light smoke and peat.
Day 9 of the advent calendar. The aroma and palate are intensely peaty, perhaps a little too much for my preference. On the nose, there are notes of spiced prunes, grapes, and raisins.
