Owen Rahman 3.8

Benromach is currently my preferred distillery. Consequently, I had higher expectations for this bottling. However, it was surprisingly mild in flavor compared to my previous experiences. On the nose and palate, I detected a sweet smoke flavor, with honey being more prominent on the palate, along with some sweet cereal. I will need to revisit it later to see if the profile evolves. It is a good whisky, but its flavors are subdued, and the peat smoke is more intense than anticipated.

Reece Yoder 3.8

Tasted at a Benromach tasting event in Dornach, Scotland. The initial taste is sweet fruit and caramel, which quickly shifts to a moderately strong smoke flavor. The flavor lingers on the palate for a medium duration, allowing the smoke to persist while the fruit and sweetness slowly re-emerge.

Irwin Thurston 3.8

Peat with fruit notes. Lingering pineapple taste. Hints of nuts and honey, with smoke.

Payton Epperson 2.0

Excessively peaty for my preference.
