Acquired this at the duty free shop at Schiphol airport. The packaging and presentation of the whisky caught my eye. I appreciate spirits bottled at 46% ABV, with no added color or chillfiltration, and I had a very positive experience with the Benriach 10 Curiositas. This is a very oily Scotch. The aroma is rich with oak and some tobacco. There's also a very subtle fruity scent, like green apples and lime. On the palate, you get vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, coffee/cappuccino, toffee. The finish is medium length. A highly distinctive Scotch, it tastes like delicious coffee ice cream in a glass. Very pleased with this purchase, cheers fellow enthusiasts!

★★★★ Avent 2019 - 17/24. A day late, I'm reviewing a whisky from one of my favorite distilleries, BenRiach. It's been a while since I bought a bottle from them, as their products aren't available online and current selections are extremely limited. In this special 'quarter cask' version, I find the honeyed sweetness of their scotch that I appreciate so much... I'll add them to my 'bucket list' for next year!
Smells like caramel and honey, leaning towards burnt caramel. Occasionally, you detect a hint of lavender or a floral scent. Tastes like sour apricot/apple. The aftertaste is spicy and slightly artificial. Not overly fond of it, but still a good drink.
Lots of flavor at first, a bit rough initially but finishes smoothly.
Slightly sharp, yet still possesses a sweet vanilla character.
Served neat.
