About this bottle

The BenRiach Peated Quarter Cask, made from peated malted barley, undergoes its entire aging process in quarter casks. These smaller barrels intensify the wood-to-whisky interaction and accelerate maturation. Introduced in June 2016, this was the inaugural release following Brown-Forman's acquisition of the brand's parent company earlier that year. This single malt has no age statement, is non-chill-filtered, and is bottled at 46% ABV.

Everette York 4.0

The bottle's shape is unusual, and the label is a military green, not very appealing, but who cares? The cork is plain and seems low quality. On the nose: green apples, faint smoke, mint, citrus, bubble gum. Palate: it's reminiscent of grappa with smoke, a salty quality, and cinnamon. Smooth and spicy finish.

Alaina Behrens 3.5

The aroma presents heather smoke, floral notes, salinity, vanilla cream, honey, and apple. The taste is bitter, with peat, mild stone fruits, a hint of brine, and grassy character. The finish offers light oak vanilla, brine, and additional smoke.

Dane Squires 4.0

Nose: very light smoke, vanilla, cinnamon. Flavor: smoke is less noticeable than on the nose. Toffee, caramel. Finish: short, slight burn, leaves a little smoke behind.

Benson Barth 4.0

NOSE: sweet, eucalyptus TASTE: sweet, oaky, woody, spice, long finish

Alisa Waddell 3.0

At a friend's place - not bad, better than another friend's drink.

Ayla Dietrich 3.0

Faint smoke, lime, smooth finish.
