Complex and woody, not excessively sweet. The aroma brings to mind the spice cabinet used by my mother for baking. For its price point, around $30, I believe it surpasses other dark rums in its category. Despite being aged for only about 3 years, the Louisiana heat suffices. Compared to a similarly priced rum like Doorly's Barbados 12 Year, it has a deeper color, is less sweet, features more baking spice, and a significantly more pronounced aroma.
