Batch 22 Classic Gold, released in July 2022, is designated a "New American Aquavit" due to its emphasis on citrus, caraway, and dill flavors, differing from the anise, fennel, and cumin notes found in many traditional Scandinavian aquavits. The aquavit has a light copper hue resulting from the botanicals used, not from any barrel aging.

Unlike typical aquavits that emphasize strong fennel and anise (licorice) flavors, this one focuses more on citrus, caraway, and dill, making it much easier to enjoy and drink. The reduced licorice also means it blends wonderfully in cocktails without being too dominant.
