An elegant, cordial created by Christian Krogstad for Westward Whiskey Distillery in Portland, Oregon. It's a grain-based spirit with caraway at its heart, alongside star anise and other botanicals. It begins aromatically with notes of herbs and spices, particularly star anise; its rich and toasty life adds caraway, coffee, dill, maple syrup, and mint; leading to a long and spicy conclusion. The anise is very prominent. It has less dill and caraway compared to most aquavits. This is one I really enjoy.
An intriguing blend of anise and caraway. My preferred aquavit to date. It has earned a permanent place in my collection.
