Barrell Rye Private Release Finished in Pedro Ximenez Sherry Barrel 1X01

A sample arrived from a friend. In a Glencairn glass, allowed to sit for 15 minutes. Medium amber hue. Smell: Vanilla and dark fruit. Hints of mint. Taste: Cinnamon and clove with oaky astringency. Lingering sensation: Very warming and exceptionally enduring. With a splash: The mint notes from the aroma reappear. Conclusion: 9/10 - This rye is fantastic. Unfortunately, it was a single barrel offering and is no longer available. I would enjoy having it at home. Fortunately, Barrell Craft Spirits continues to produce quality ryes.
