Barrell Rye 004 is a blend of straight rye whiskeys sourced from Indiana (5, 6, and 10-year-olds), Tennessee (5-year-old), Kentucky (6-year-old), and Canada (14-year-old). The mash bill for this blend is 89% rye, 7% corn, and 4% malted barley. Batch 004 is offered at cask strength, 115.7 proof, and has been available since August 2023, with a suggested retail price of $90.

Nose: baking spice, spearmint Palate: spearmint cucumbers, nearly pickled in a pleasant way, drinks below its alcohol content Finish: a short, warm embrace (like from a buddy, not your mother) Overall: A fantastic blended rye that appears more intricate than its age statement suggests. This is a winner. And that wasn't a jab at mothers. Also, after checking the bottle's tasting notes, I don't detect any fruit or brown sugar. My assessment stands.
