Not this specific bottle, but I did not want to create a new entry. My sample bottle is labeled “Barrell Rum B602 130”. My brief observations: This is exceptional! I appreciate the interaction between the sweet Barbados and the robust Jamaican rums. A long, spicy, sweet finish. Outstanding! I believe the sample I am tasting is the “Breaking Bourbon Single Barrel Club pick #19 "Come Together"” from Mash and Grape. I am not entirely certain, but the sample originated from a friend in Oregon, the 130 proof matches, and I know he favors M&G. Notes from M&G: “The aroma presents a combination of sweet gingerbread with maple sugar candy and lightly toasted marshmallows. A hint of leather is subtly present in the background. A spicy pop lands on the palate, with graham crackers, maple sugar candy, and dark fruit mingling. Light smoke, creme brulee sweetness, and a touch of butterscotch follow. It concludes with a warming heat highlighted by dark fruit and raisins. The sweetness persists, leaving a delicate brown sugar aftertaste. At a significant 130 proof, this rum for bourbon enthusiasts is dangerously easy to drink.” I would say they accurately described it. Barrell produces a vast quantity of products, which can be overwhelming. Previously, I had refrained from purchasing any of their private label rums. After tasting this, I will certainly explore more of their offerings. Thanks to a friend for the sample.
