Leonel Oh 3.8

I could spend a lot of time just smelling this. The aroma has barley, copper, and oak spice. This is what a Texas single malt should have been. It's rich with toasted barley and has a strong oak presence. In my opinion, it's too oak-heavy, but I recognize the amount of flavor it contains. The finish is quite long, with notes of brown sugar.

Milo Arroyo 4.5

Nose: Sugary, smooth vanilla, reminiscent of crème brûlée. A hint of sweet, smoky wood. Taste: Vibrant spices give way to oak, then a lasting spiced cookie flavor. Finish: The lengthy, easy spice, primarily ginger and nutmeg, slowly dissolves into a pleasant sweetness.
