The aroma is rich with orchard fruits – peach, apple, pear, and apricot preserves, which is pleasant. There are also faint traces of burnt rubber and furniture polish, which are less desirable. As it airs out, notes of cookie dough and candied ginger emerge. The alcohol vapor is somewhat sharp. The taste mirrors the fruit from the aroma but leans towards dried varieties, complemented by cereal grains, roasted oak, macadamia nuts, ginger snaps, and cola. The flavors are quite bold. It's an unusual profile with a lot happening. The finish begins with some oaky dryness and white pepper spice, then transitions into sweet notes of rich buttercream and gooey caramel, which was a delightful surprise. A lingering hint of clove remains after other flavors fade. The texture is medium-bodied, neither particularly smooth nor rough. This is a very intriguing and distinctive spirit, but ultimately, it feels a bit unfocused and muddled for my preference. It straddles the line between 'complex' and 'discordant,' leaning towards the latter. The standard version was better. At its price point, I won't buy it again. However, if you're a fan of the brand, it's likely worth trying at least once.

To me, this tastes like a higher-proofed lineage. Very distinctive!
