About this bottle

Balcones, located in Waco, Texas, collaborated with Saint Arnold Brewing Company in Houston for this limited whiskey. To mark the brewery's 25th anniversary, Saint Arnold created Grand Cru, a mix of three beers aged in bourbon barrels: a Belgian-style quadrupel, a Russian imperial stout, and an English-style barleywine. Balcones then used these barrels for finishing this cask-strength whiskey.

Gerry Cloud 3.8

It was quite potent. A lot was happening, but it can be summarized as: woody, peppery, and like an orange Tootsie Pop. Very uncommon, clearly from Texas, and pretty darn good.

Lonnie Bullock 4.5

Features notes of fruit, nuts, and a touch of spice.
