99 points. A remarkable scotch, with campfire and cherry wood burning through the nose. The elegant profile is full of dry apricots, pecans, just a gorgeous finish.

About this bottle
Inver House Distillers, the owner, has updated the Balblair range, phasing out vintage releases in favor of age-stated expressions. The 25-year-old expression initially matures in American oak ex-bourbon casks before a finishing period in Spanish oak oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV with natural color and without chill filtration, with an introduction planned for April 2019 in select markets.
