Clear as water in the glass, this spirit has thick, watery legs. After a few sniffs, the aroma offers notes of watermelon, dried grains, sugary cotton candy, glue, and cut grass. The mouthfeel on the palate is buttery, with sweet and tangy tastes alongside a hint of cantaloupe. The finish is lengthy and provides an herbal/vegetal freshness. This spirit is quite excellent, possessing enough character for neat sipping or serving as a strong base in cocktails. I suggest giving it a try. If you find yourself at the Axe and the Oak tasting room, ask for a sample of the spirit that has matured in Laghroig barrels! Cheers!
