Forest Moriarty 4.0

This local rye appears a pale copper hue, leaving thick, syrupy trails on the glass's inner surface. The sweet aroma is quite pleasant and presents notes of candy corn, wood shavings, fennel, wild blossoms, a whisper of tropical mango or pineapple, and honeyed toast. The taste includes strong black licorice, crushed pepper, crimson apples, some wood presence, and vanilla. It finishes with a long, lingering herbal and peppery sensation. To sum up, this is a remarkably good rye. While it doesn't break new ground, it certainly honors the established path. I enjoy it straight and also find it serves well as a base for mixed drinks. The team at Axe and the Oak are wonderful folks; my best wishes to you all, thank you! Cheers!

A present from associates in Colorado: I typically avoid rye neat or on ice, but this was enjoyable. A lingering spice on the tongue. The aroma carries hints of young fruit, like unripe bananas. It has a brief finish. I like it in an old fashioned and a whiskey sour.

This Rye is quite unlike my go-to Rye, Pendleton 1910, when you look at the flavors and sweetness. This Rye doesn't possess the sweetness I was expecting, nor is it as smooth to drink. It is an acceptable spirit, though, just not as refined as the 1910.

Ingrid Lauer 4.5

This spirit is sweet, smooth, and among my most cherished gifts.

Enjoyable rye. A touch immature. Worth sampling.

A fantastic choice for an Old Fashioned.
