ASW Burns Night

I typically stick to bourbon but grabbed this a while ago and wasn't a fan. Since then, I've begun exploring scotch and recalled this was sitting on my shelf. Tasting it again, I was unexpectedly pleased. There's a whisper of peat smoke and dried fruit, with a note of cherry and chocolate ice cream(?), but the oak barrels truly make this one shine. The oak enhances the classic scotch notes in a novel way!

I've recently developed an interest in American single malts and really appreciate this interpretation. It has a peach pie and vanilla character, certainly more substantial than many single malt Scotches.
