Arran The Côte-Rôtie Cask Finish

Arran has become my preferred choice when I desire something fruity, as their selections are frequently well-made and tropical. This brand isn't a Speyside, nor is it a typical Island whisky. The Côte-Rôtie cask finish refers to an expression named after a specific French region known for a special type of syrah wine, meaning "roasted slope". Bottled at a solid 50% ABV, a common strength for Arran. The color is striking, appearing PEACH. On the nose, it's quite intriguing with unique tropical aromas. It begins with white chocolate, then reveals outstanding cantaloupe and papaya. Amazingly fresh and fruity; actual peaches, some salt and spice, perhaps a subtle maritime character. Tastes like cheap strawberry candy. Very tropical, reminiscent of white wine. After the initial sip: floral notes and papaya juice. White chocolate. On the palate, it's very enjoyable. A cantaloupe note, quite pleasant. Then a pepper bomb, but agreeable, mingled with the tropical fruitiness. A second sip brought milk chocolate, like a white Kit Kat bar. The aftertaste is excellent: a slight smoke and a pleasant peppery warmth; very good. An interesting and distinct dram, it feels sophisticated and classy. Nice spiciness, long-lasting, very rewarding with some grassy undertones. Overall, this is a very good dram, well-balanced, and for the price (around $50), it's unbeatable. This is a limited edition, and I highly recommend purchasing it. It received 89 points out of 100, which feels like an unfairly low score; it should be higher.
