(Good Spirits Co. Glasgow – Virtual Premium Whisky Tasting, 27 November 2020). Nose: Sweet berries, vibrant, with a sherry influence. There is a clear grape note on the nose. Palate: Dark chocolate cherries, rich and fruity. It has a substantial, heavy mouthfeel that is full and coats the palate. Finish: Port/red wine, waxy, sweet (like pudding) wine. There is a slightly salty/dusty/dry aftertaste. Cask: French oak. Ex-Sassicaia Tuscan wine cask Distilled: 27/03/2008 Bottled: 15/09/2020 1 of 274 bottles Cask number: 08/110 A slightly chemical undertone detracts somewhat from the experience - but that's really just being overly critical! This is a delightful dram. It placed third out of the six whiskies, receiving 13% of the votes for favorite of the night. (70% of those present indicated they enjoyed the whisky). I must say, this was an excellent dram. It didn't receive my vote for favorite, but it was among the most intriguing of the tasting, and for that, it merits significant commendation.
