About this bottle

Arran 12 Year cask strength whisky is produced in batches. Batch #5, released in 2015, contained whisky aged in first-fill sherry butts, second-fill sherry hogsheads, and first-fill bourbon barrels. Minor differences in the aging process appear to be present across the batches, with overall consistency.

Millicent Mcelroy 4.0

May 2018. Given the 52.9% ABV, a deep sniff was overwhelming with alcohol fumes. With a bit of water and time, the nose offered heather and orange, but after several more minutes, I could have sworn I detected a whiff of wet dog. The sherry influence is noticeable on the palate, with a spicy bitterness at the end.
