I think this is my first French whiskey, and I'm impressed. I drank it neat and found it well-balanced, smooth, and without any harshness or burn, and then I saw it was 55.5%. However, that doesn't matter without flavor and complexity, and the Warenghem distillery has done well here. I believe it's exclusively from ex-oloroso casks. Lots of orange, vanilla, and a sweet note I couldn't identify until I saw other reviews - strawberry. Letting it rest really improves it. It's right at the edge of my tolerance for sweetness, though, and has a slight sugary aftertaste, so I'm unsure if I could drink a lot of it. A score of 4 for overall enjoyment and 4.25 for craftsmanship.
