About this bottle

ARDRAY Blended Scotch Whisky, meaning "towards the light," is a 2023 release crafted by Beam Suntory's Chief Blender for Scotch Whisky, Calum Fraser, and Suntory's Japanese blending team. This malt-rich blend of malt and grain whiskies uses components from no more than 10 distilleries, including single malts from Beam Suntory brands like Laphroaig, Bowmore, Ardmore, and Glen Garioch, as well as Edrington partners such as The Macallan, The Glenrothes, and Highland Park. Intended to evoke blends made with fewer, distinct malts, ARDRAY will be produced in annual batches with adjusted recipes each year. It is bottled at 48% ABV without chill-filtration and launched in the US in late summer 2023 with an SRP of $85.

It's acceptable, not outstanding. Considering the cost, I'd prefer to get compass box king’s street, or Johnnie Walker green. It's interesting to experience, but I don't need to own a bottle! Additionally, I'm not a fan of the showy marketing; either be straightforward or completely open like compass box! This is an overhyped blend that should be priced under $35!

I enjoyed it. It's unique. I perceived a rye spiciness that contrasted with the scotch peatiness.
