Nose: Raisins. Dried fruit. Nutty. Subtle smoke. Rich. A touch of sweetness. Coastal. Black pepper. Taste: Big. Complex. Dried fruit. Coastal saltiness. Smoked meats. A bit of mint. Earthy elements from the peat harmonize well with the rich/sweet elements from the sherry. Overall: Great whisky. Highly recommend.

Good flavor, but the opposite of smooth. In my experience, it has too much burn and is too sharp, making it unpleasant. I'm not sure why, as 50% ABV isn't that high for me (I'm used to drinking much higher). It must be the oak.
Well-balanced and flavorful with notes of burnt sugar and mild smoke. It's lean, not too oily, with raisins, alcohol heat, a pleasant length, and peppery, meaty undertones.
Has a smoky aroma.
