Nose: light and delicate smoke and peat, which cover other light aromas of cherry and raspberry. Really great. Palate: a gentle peat, with smoked cherry wood, sweet with notes of brackish. Really pleasant and good, too bad it's just a little too watery and not oily and dense. Final: delicate, short and sweet. This is also excellent. But what goodness! The delicate contrast between smoke / peat and juicy, sweet red fruit makes it very interesting! 4.50 rating __________________________________________________________ Nose: light and delicate smoke and peat, which cover other light aromas of cherry and raspberry. This distillery is consistently a favorite. This particular bottling has an Islay-like character, but it's still a commendable drink. It has a 46% ABV and an amber hue. Upon nosing: Notes of rubber and strong alcohol are prominent; it smells like Nerf toys or similar items; after several minutes, dark chocolate emerges. There are also notes of prune skin and a salty, island-like quality, even for a Highland spirit. Milk chocolate is also present. The palate is intense. It's extremely ashy and oaked, with black pepper and medicinal undertones. The rubber note is very reminiscent of Islay whiskies like Ardbeg or Laphroaig. The finish is long and sulfuric, with a slightly acidic burn that is surprisingly enjoyable and well-balanced. Overall, I rate this dram an 88 out of 100. This distillery consistently delivers quality. Cheers!
