(Good Spirits Co. Glasgow – Virtual Whisky Tasting, 04 February 2023). Nose: Hairspray, furniture polish, slightly burnt plastic, dried fruit (plum and dates) Palate: Spicy ginger, black pepper, malty, dark dried fruits, and sour dried cherries Finish: A lengthy finish with sweet molasses and burnt caramel. The dried fruit notes become brighter on the finish, developing a more sherried character in the aftertaste. 1 of 458 bottles Oloroso sherry butt The nose on this is not impressive, with burnt and artificial notes, but it truly shines on the palate and even more so on the finish, where it becomes significantly more sherried and vibrant. Quite good, actually. It tied for last place out of the six samples, with none of the attendees selecting it as their favorite of the night. 36% of those present indicated they enjoyed the whisky. Two standout drams dominated the voting, which may have unfairly impacted some of the other whiskies.
