Visited the distillery today. The Andalusia Whiskey Company resides in the scenic Texas Hill Country, a drive of about an hour from either Austin or San Antonio. They handle all the smoking of their grain in-house, along with maturation and bottling at their facility. Within the Texas distillery scene, they receive considerable media attention, having been highlighted in Texas Monthly and Whisky Advocate. This particular spirit was decent. Compared to other unaged whiskeys I’ve sampled, this one was silky, simple to consume, and offers promise for the distillery’s future products. It offered an aroma similar to an agave spirit, and a rich, grain-like texture on the palate. It lacked a finish, though it also lacked any aging. Solid product.
