A quick wave of caramel followed by subtle oak. A familiar taste emerges strongly, surprisingly like Bulleit's single malt, featuring a fennel-like rye character. This is odd, knowing the mash bill is 95% wheat and 5% malted barley. The finish is rather brief and lacks complexity, with faint brown sugar notes. I think this would work well in an Old Fashioned or as a quick shot, but it's not something I'd reach for daily.
