About this bottle

Alias Straight Rye is a whiskey from Luxco, created at their Ross & Squibb Distillery in Indiana. The grain recipe consists of 51% rye, 45% corn, and 4% malted barley. This expression, bottled at 90 proof, does not have an age statement. According to Luxco, the Alias brand name honors the early female pioneers in the U.S. who used their initials to conceal their gender while running distilleries. It became available in May 2022.

NOSE Woody, grain-forward, baked orchard fruit, botanical spice, pastry dough, copper and a boozy punch Appears less mature than claimed and has a subtle chemical edge. PALATE Thin rye spice, woody oak, caramel, dried fruit, grassy grain and some copper and sharp piney-botanical notes. I'm not particularly fond of this taste, it feels underdeveloped and coarse. FINISH Medium-short -> Caramel, copper, old spice and earthiness
