Nose: Sherry, toffee apple, butterscotch. Palate: Fruitcake, dried dates, dried berries and currants, malty, espresso. Finish: Long, with notes of Christmas cake, oak, dried fruit, Golden Syrup, leather, cigar smoke, and fig pudding. The lingering taste is full-bodied and chewy. 1 of 2,293 bottles. Matured in a first-fill sherry cask. The distillery is not identified on the bottle, though it has been confirmed to be from Blair Athol. This is a full-bodied, rich dram with prominent sherry and festive characteristics. Abundant layered fruit, dark coffee, and chocolate notes are present. A great, full-bodied sherry dram. Ranked third out of six drams, receiving 20% of the vote for favorite of the evening. 67% of attendees enjoyed the whisky. This dram received my vote for the evening's favorite.
