About this bottle
Aberlour 15 Year Double Cask Matured undergoes a distinct maturation process. The whisky matures separately for 14 years in casks that previously held ex-bourbon and ex-sherry. Following this, it is combined and finished for an additional year in new Spanish oloroso casks.

It's a pity the harsh finish doesn't match the rich aroma and substantial flavor.
Lots of coloring and a rather strange taste. Definitely too expensive for its age and certainly not a great taste.
Very nice port-sherry notes, a hint of vanilla, mild wood presence. Very aromatic!
A decent spirit, not particularly remarkable, but with some sherry notes and a slight alcohol bite.
A well-rounded whiskey, featuring sweet honey notes and hints of vanilla. Perfect for unwinding before bed.
