504 Hibiscus Spiced Rum

On the nose, I get a mix of cough syrups, mostly like Robitussin, rubber, and gasoline with a hint of hibiscus. Oh my goodness, on the palate it tastes like cough syrup. This is awful and terribly bitter with notes of gasoline. I can’t believe I brought this home with me from NOLA. I can't even finish the small neat pour after opening the bottle. This will sit on my bar until some family member who knows nothing about good spirits comes over and I serve them this.

Smells of toasted sugar, licorice, cinnamon, cloves, sandalwood, blossoms, citrus, and Jägermeister. The taste is surprisingly bitter, akin to aspirin, not enjoyable, followed by what can only be described as a chaotic mix of spice, citrus, scorched rubber, flowers, and assorted bandages and remedies. There's no way to salvage this. It's vile. I could have acquired so many superior options 😩
