This bottle was opened a few weeks ago. It's good. Sometimes rye whiskeys can have an excessive raisin flavor for my liking. This one does have that note, but it fades quickly. It seems to have more heat than I'd anticipate from a 91 proof. The aroma shifts rapidly from raisin to candy corn to charred marshmallow. However, the alcohol and wood elements occasionally overpower the other nuances. I'm uncertain about its value. I purchased this thinking it was the straight rye and was charged accordingly (around $30?). Upon returning home, I noticed the label and realized my error.
