The aroma is heavily influenced by sherry: raisins, dark fruits, almonds, and some autumnal spices like cloves and cinnamon. The sherry notes dominate the taste as well, primarily with a fruity sweetness and a hint of spice that transitions into a dry, nutty finish. While I generally favor intensely sherried whiskies, this is quite good, particularly with that nutty characteristic I associate with Westland products featuring chocolate malted barley. It's intriguing, but not something I would regularly choose.
