A rich, demerara Dark Rum created and bottled by Banks DIH in Guyana, aged for 15 years in oak. It starts aromatically with notes of stone fruits, nuts, demerara & tea; its rich & full journey adds notes of molasses, praline, apricot & nutmeg; concluding with a rich, medium-length finish of steely minerality, smoke, roasted nuts & chocolate. The nose is rich with dark fruit (cherry, plum), banana, vanilla, and a hint of lime. The body is quite light and thin, with a gentle sweetness and a touch of oakiness, surprisingly different from the nose. The finish is prolonged, grassy, with a pleasant funkiness, more vanilla, and unexpectedly light for its age.
A rich caramel candy note.
