The aroma presents delightful vanilla bean and apple pie. The initial taste reveals oak, leather, and the char typical of a good bourbon. However, the complexity of this initial impression is much better than anticipated, with hints of pine nut, honey, and black pepper. Adding ice doesn't significantly alter the taste, still offering the same enjoyable notes. I am genuinely surprised by how good this is, considering it's the first batch from this new distillery. Seek it out if you can find it.
