I've had this for some time. Decided to open it tonight and it was right there, so here we go. It has an oily appearance in the glass, coating nicely. The aroma is immediately very sweet. I detect apple butter and barnyard notes, fall spices, allspice, nutmeg, and clove. The palate has an immediate impact. Apple butter is upfront, followed by oak, cocoa, root beer and coffee candies, and black pepper. This whiskey feels hot, but in a good way. My only critique is that with so many strong flavors, the finish becomes a bit bitter. I poured some into a rocks glass, and it was great, mellowing the edges and letting the finish fade smoothly. This is a great spirit to sip on. I've never had a bad one from that distillery, but this particular selection is exceptional.
