I'm uncertain about the specifics, but this is good. The aroma is unusual, perhaps grainy? The palate is silky and sweet, rapidly shifting to rye spice. The finish is long and full of rye spice. While I typically prefer more oak at cask strength, this offers a delicious change of pace. It wasn't overly impressive as a fresh pour, but it has become much richer after a couple of months. I previously had a pour of Larceny BP B520; this is considerably easier to drink and appears to be of higher quality. This is my initial experience with this producer, and it certainly won't be my last. It's a single barrel selection bottled at 117.7 proof.
