Woodinville Double Barrel Blended Whiskey

The aroma is butterscotch with underlying notes of honey and oak. It's amazing, in my opinion, smells like candy. The texture is a bit thin, but it compensates with flavor. The palate is mostly straight butterscotch, with hints of oak, honey, and tobacco. The finish is extended and similar, full of sweet butterscotch and oak with some spice and very mild warmth, finally fading into a dry oak aftertaste. This bourbon tastes like candy and I enjoy it. Sadly, I don't think I can find a bottle of it locally. I'd love to get another bottle to see if it's as good as this one. What a treasure.

It's always a pleasure when my blind rating matches the group's agreement. Personally, I consider this a beautiful bourbon. Someone I shared this with mentioned it was too strong for their liking, but I've been drinking so much poor whiskey lately that this was a welcome, lovely, and I'd even say elegant change. Like a newborn baby on the frontier, I'm the local dentist who assisted in its birth and, based on my basic knowledge of human anatomy, declared, "Yep, everything's in its proper place."

The scent comes across rather muted, with little happening beneath the dominant craft woodiness; The taste is also defined by that craft-woody profile and ends up tasting like an “okay craft whiskey”; The finish picks up the most spice and even an interesting smoky note – definitely my favorite aspect of this whiskey.

Why aren't there more reviews for WDB? I'm becoming a big admirer. The PNW is creating some amazing whiskey. The double barrel is good, but not my top choice from them. It's quite pleasant, with a syrupy character at the top, but it feels a bit empty in the middle. Reminds me of drinking from a wooden box or an unpainted apple crate.

Smells like vanilla and fruit. Fantastic aroma, just like other Woodinvilles. It's very creamy. Extremely smooth going down, with almost no heat. The taste is as rich and creamy as the smell. This would be a great drink for summer or for those who prefer sweeter beverages. The creaminess leaves a luxurious finish. It tastes like a sweet treat.

This is unequivocally the finest whiskey I have ever had. While it might not satisfy a professional critic, it's my absolute favorite drink. It explodes with sweet vanilla and smooth oak. The finish is mellow, with whispers of grain and oak. I particularly enjoy the rich mouthfeel. Just get it, it's fantastic.
