Woodinville Bourbon PX Sherry Cask Finish

Nose: Caramel, raisins, milk chocolate, with a predominant dark, dried, syrupy sweetness. Taste: Caramel, raisins, milk chocolate, cinnamon, prunes, and subtle oak. Finish: A lingering combination of cinnamon, dark raisins, bitter dark chocolate, and caramel. Score: 89/100 Final Thoughts: This expression offered a much more pronounced dark dried fruit character and a deeper, syrupy sweetness that I found to be a better complement to bourbon than Oloroso sherry. The nose features darker raisins and chocolate that temper the usual bourbon caramel/vanilla sweetness. It slightly reduces the cinnamon char while introducing a hint of tannic oak, creating a profile that avoids being overly sweet, despite the PX finish. The nose has fruity notes and mellow oak. The palate offers richer fruit and classic bourbon flavors, mellow and smooth. The finish is warming with dark fruit. The PX cask integration is more effective in complementing the young bourbon than the oloroso cask was.

Sweet with a decent body. If you enjoy Woodinville's standard bourbon, you must try this fantastic rendition.
