An intriguing comparison to the typical sour mash method. For me, the sweet mash offered less complexity and enjoyment, but it's certainly worth sampling just to observe the impact of the different production approach on the distilling outcome.

About this bottle
Woodford Reserve Distillery Series Sweet Mash Redux Bourbon is one of two inaugural expressions in the new Woodford Reserve Distillery Series, exclusively sold in 375ml bottles at the distillery. This bottling revisits the Sweet Mash Finish released in the 2008 Master's Collection. Unlike Woodford's standard sour mash fermentation, Sweet Mash Redux utilizes a non-soured base, altering the fundamental character of the bourbon and resulting in a distinct profile.

Another superb creation from Chris Morris! Very smooth and easy to drink, with developing complexity the more you sip. If this mash bill could have aged longer, it would likely be the top product from WR. I truly believe they've discovered something significant.
This is not good and I would pass on it. It lacks complexity and flavor, offering notes of grains and a slight bitterness. It tastes very similar to Woodford Reserve Master Collection Classic Malt.
Definitely a distinctive flavor. I'm uncertain if I could consume much of this.
It's intriguing, but I thought it was much worse than Double Oak.
My top choice from the Distillery Series.
