About this bottle

For the nineteenth consecutive year, Woodford Reserve holds the designation of "Official Bourbon of the Kentucky Derby." During the 2016 event, equine artist Thomas Allen Pauly was granted unique access to observe and photograph the races from atop Churchill Downs. This vantage point inspired the artwork featured on the 143rd commemorative bottling, marking the second year his art has been used for this special release, showcasing a rare perspective of the Kentucky Derby. These liter-sized bottles are expected to reach retailers in March 2017, preceding the May 6, 2017 event in Louisville. Consistent with previous releases, the contents are Woodford Reserve Bourbon, bottled at 45.2% ABV.

Rudy Dykes 4.0

[5.6.2017] I cannot offer many tasting notes for this. I mixed it into mint juleps as intended, and they were fantastic. Always Dreaming was the winner, and there goes another five dollars.

Cecil Thorne 2.0

If you're not collecting the bottles, opt for the standard Woodford Reserve instead.

Ross Andrews 4.0

$40 At Scotty's. Decent. Not overly sweet.

Tyson Cole 4.0

Sweet and light-bodied.
