This is the best Whiskey of 2025! I was also a big admirer of the 2024 Russell Reserve 15 year from last year, so I'm not entirely taken aback, but this expression is truly special. I sincerely hope this isn't the final Master's Keep release, as rumored. Hopefully, this fantastic father-son collaboration will continue to bring joy to enthusiasts like myself for many more years. At 118 proof, I believe it's best enjoyed neat in a Glencairn. The aroma is very inviting, with hints of oak, cigar wrapper, honey, and fruit. The taste is a robust mix of light oak, baking spices, maple syrup, and more dried fruit. The finish is long, smooth, and full of character. I detect more oak, chocolate, orange, and a final touch of spice that makes you want another sip.

About this bottle
Wild Turkey's tenth and final Master's Keep offering, Beacon, launched in 2015. Master Distiller Eddie Russell, the creator of the Master's Keep line, and his son, Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell, developed this blend. It combines 10 and 16 year old bourbons. Eddie chose bourbon distilled between 2007 and 2008, the final spirits from the original Wild Turkey distillery. Bruce selected bourbon from 2015, among the first he produced with his father and grandfather, Hall of Fame Master Distiller Jimmy Russell. Bottled at 118 proof, Beacon became available globally in September 2025. (SRP $300)

Incredible! I was fortunate to get a bottle at its suggested retail price, and now I wish I had bought two! It truly shows that great bourbon from this distillery leaves a lasting impression. Sharing this bottle at a friend's birthday celebration created a memorable experience. It also reinforces my belief that exceptional bourbon shouldn't remain on a shelf but should be opened and enjoyed with loved ones, or even those you don't know so well! Cheers!
Given the chance to sample this, take your time. It represents what Wild Turkey keeps in its inventory. Nose: Typical WT funk. Hazelnut, cinnamon, hints of citrus and sweetness. Some rye spice intertwines. Taste: Imagine this: combine the 15 yr with a single rickhouse, that would be close. Sweet cinnamon, dry tannins, marshmallows, toffee, deep underneath is raisin and chicory, coffee cake, medicinal cherry, long finish. Dark and dry and it just sits. Peanut brittle starts to emerge, soft tannins linger.
Shares the same base as RR15; a top-tier Turkey character. Essentially a great Russell's bottle. Not much heat but excellent flavors and mouthfeel. Sweet and spicy.
A nose with notes of nuts and dusty barrel char. The nutty character carries onto the tongue, with flavors of bubblegum, oak, almond meal, and spice. It's dense, with a dry conclusion that provides a pleasant warmth from Kentucky.
This bourbon is excellent. Another hit from Wild Turkey that surpasses other bottles. So smooth and tasty with an incredible flavor profile!
