About this bottle

The third release in Woodford Reserve's Distillery Series is the Frosty Four Wood bourbon. This whiskey undergoes initial aging in new American oak, followed by finishing periods in maple wood, sherry, and port barrels. The name "Frosty" relates to the whiskey's exposure to exceptionally cold temperatures during the 2013 Polar Vortex, which caused mineral precipitation. The bourbon is presented at 90.4-proof and is available in 375ml bottles at the distillery and select Kentucky retailers.

Becky Prescott 3.0

Spicy on the nose, which surprised me for a Woodford product. Small quick tails. The proof is forward on the palate, which is odd for the proof. Tingly on the palate with some sweet notes. The finish is quick and has wine notes.

Marilynn Carney 4.0

It nearly brings to mind a wine that's undergone malolactic fermentation. A very substantial mouthfeel that coats the throat. Flavors of brown butter curd and rich vanilla extract. The depth is appreciated, but the finish isn't quite right for me.

Tobias Downing 4.8

Just learned of this yesterday. Belgian waffle with syrup... unadorned. Found at Evergreen liquor in nulu.

Maximiliano Tompkins 3.5

Smells of cherry and orange, which is also present on the tongue. A slight Kentucky hug and lingering cherry.

Brad Chavarria 4.0

A good whiskey. Not ideal for cocktails. Best for sipping neat.
