About this bottle
The King of Kentucky whiskey brand was first introduced in 1881 and later acquired by Brown-Forman in 1936, before being retired in 1968. After a 50-year hiatus, Brown-Forman has revived King of Kentucky as a Kentucky Straight Bourbon, a departure from its previous blended whiskey status. The name references horse racing, often called "the sport of kings." It is crafted using the Early Times mash bill (79% corn, 11% rye, 10% malted barley) and aged for 14 years in new, charred American oak. The aging process involved seven years in a heat-cycled warehouse followed by seven years without. These are single barrel releases, so the proof is expected to range from 125-135. Just 960 bottles were available for its June 2018 release.
